We are very happy that Tempus Konnex is represented at the Impulsfestival with two concerts and a creative labrorary this year:
FUTUR 3 / DUNKLE MATERIE
about autocrats, hope and humor
three world premieres of Lorenzo Paniconi (Italy), Yarosalva Snitko (Ukraine) and Hristina Susak (Serbia) based on texts by Yamen Hussein (Syria) Michail Schischkin (Russia) and Serhij Zhadan (Ukraine)
with Maurizio Kagel “Märsche um den Sieg zu verfehlen” and György Ligeti “Mysteries of the Macabre”
“Wir werden den Sieg errungen haben worden sein” (“We will have won the victory” in an unusual future form of the german language), declares the power in best future tense III. Marches, slogans and secret codes are ingredients of an absurd but unfortunately always befuddling and often deadly cocktail. The antidote is known. It lies in our imagination, in poetry and in everyone who does not let himself be seduced or swallowed by dark matter.

Already experienced composers of the younger generation come together in this creative laboratory to work with composer Annette Schlünz and Tempus Konnex on their new compositions for the concert “Futur 3 / Dunkle Materie” (“future 3 / dark matter”) – it gets topical, it gets political, it gets humorous!

We are happy to finally announce the winners of our Call for Scores for the ICE WEEK 2022. Thank you for your patience as our announcement was delayed. We had so many great pieces that it was quite hard for the jury to reach a consensus — after multiple rounds the jury selected six pieces and composers.

Of note are the following finalists:
Chatori Shimizu (fiddle), Hristina Susak (EXISTO …einem kleinen Hund gewidmet…), Èlise Ming Chu Roy (under the odorous vine), Stylianos Dimou (questioning the „un..-“ in discomfort), Rachel Beja (Punti invisibili di contatto), Egement Kurt (Hommage a James Joyce), Francesco Vitucci (Triptych)
Our final decision was very close. Due to limited capacity we do not have the chance to include these finalists in the ICE WEEK. Their pieces also demonstrated a very high level of compositional ability, and we hope to be able to work with them on future projects.

Wir freuen uns sehr, endlich die Gewinner*innen unseres Call for Scores für die ICE WEEK 2022 verkünden zu können. Vielen Dank für die Geduld und das längere Warten auf Grund der Verzögerung bei der Veröffentlichung. Es gab sehr viele tolle Einreichungen, sodass es der Jury schwer fiel, eine Entscheidung zu treffen und mehrere Runden zur Auswahl notwendig waren. Letztendlich konnte sich auf sechs Stücke geeinigt werden.

Unter den Finalist*innen waren außerdem:

Hier war die Entscheidung sehr knapp, aber da es nur begrenzte Kapazitäten gibt, hatten wir keine Möglichkeit, diese Komponist*innen an der ICE WEEK teilnehmen zu lassen. Auch ihre Stücke zeugen von hohem Niveau und kompositorischem Können, sodass wir uns freuen würden, bei zukünftigen Projekten auf diese zurückgreifen zu können, auch wenn es bei diesem Projekt nicht geklappt hat.

ICE WEEK 2022: CALL FOR SCORES
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Kulturreflex e.V. and Tempus Konnex are excited to announce an international Call for Scores for the upcoming inaugural ICE WEEK for Contemporary Music in Leipzig 2022.
With the chance for successful pieces to be performed by the Tempus Konnex ensemble, not only during ICE WEEK itself, possibly also in New York and Huddersfield, ICE WEEK 2022 presents a unique opportunity for emerging composers to make their work known. The week will offer selected applicants an exciting platform to network with and learn from established composers including Aaron Cassidy, Ann Cleare and Jason Eckardt (4th TBA), as well as the opportunity for exchange with other emerging composers, participants, and supporters of new music. The week will consist of a series of round table discussions, concerts, workshops, and there will be the potential for individual tutoring.
ICE Week will run for the first time in Leipzig between 4th-10th July 2022, and we need you to help make it special!
Send us your completed application and all required documents and scores via email to us at scores@tempus-konnex.com by April 10, 2022. The deadline for entries arriving in our inbox is 23:59 CET, and late or incomplete applications will not be considered. The list of selected participants will be posted on our website by the end of May 2022.

Kulturreflex e.V. und das Ensemble Tempus Konnex geben hiermit einen internationalen Call for Scores für die erstmalig stattfindende ICE WEEK für aktuelle Musik in Leipzig 2022 bekannt.
Die ICE WEEK 2022 bietet aufstrebenden Komponist*innen eine einmalige Gelegenheit, ihre Werke bekannt zu machen. Ausgewählte Stücke werden vom Ensemble Tempus Konnex während der ICE WEEK in Leipzig aufgeführt, einige davon sogar in New York und Huddersfield. Die Woche bietet vielversprechenden Bewerber*innen eine Plattform, um sich mit etablierten Komponist*innen wie Aaron Cassidy, Ann Cleare und Jason Eckardt (4. TBA) zu vernetzen und von ihnen zu lernen, sowie sich mit anderen aufstrebenden Komponist*innen, Teilnehmer*innen und Förderer*innen neuer Musik auszutauschen. Die Woche besteht aus einer Reihe von round-tables, Konzerten, Workshops und der Möglichkeit individueller Förderung.
Die ICE WEEK wird vom 4. bis 10. Juli 2022 zum ersten Mal in Leipzig stattfinden. Wir brauchen Euch, um sie zu etwas Besonderem zu machen!
Schickt uns bis zum 10. April 2022 eure vollständige Bewerbung mit allen erforderlichen Unterlagen und Noten per E-Mail an scores@tempus-konnex.com. Der Einsendeschluss ist 23:59 Uhr MEZ, verspätete oder unvollständige Bewerbungen werden nicht berücksichtigt.
